Cairnbrae started in 1980 as a contract grower then began producing wine under its own label in 1992. In 2001, Cainbrae was purchased by Sacred Hill Wines of Hawke's Bay. Cairnbrae has been a solid label from Marlborough as it should be. It has the distinction of sharing the east side of Jacksons Road with Cloudy Bay. Nice Neighborhood! The question of how Cairnbrae would progress under new ownership has been answered: the 2003 Sauvignon Blanc was top rated by Cuisine and the trophy winner at the Air New Zealand competition.
